Snacks
It is a good idea to bring some snacks for baby if baby is eating snacks or solid foods. If baby is drinking from a sippy cup or bottle, you can bring one with you as well. Sometimes it helps to give baby a break for a few minutes half way through their session. I find this can re-energize them for a few more pictures. Babies begin to tire from picture taking as early as 30-45 minutes at 4 to 12 months of age.
Length of Session
We are together for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Preparing Your Baby for the Session
Following these suggestions will help make your session as successful as possible.
1. Arrive on time for your session.
2. Schedule your session time for a time that is usually best for baby. Usually, first thing in the morning or right after afternoon nap is the best time. Avoid scheduling your session during baby’s ordinary nap time.
3. Have baby dressed and ready to be photographed upon arrival. Some babies dislike being changed so if baby arrives ready to be photographed and is happy, we can get good shots right away. If baby needs to be changed first before pictures, this can sometimes be upsetting for baby. After we have taken pictures in the outfit you arrive in, we can try changing baby into different studio outfits.
I hope you found this baby session preparation helpful. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Many thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Thank you,
Chandra
