Chandra Lee Photography will be offering a newborn posing workshop on April 15, 2017 for aspiring or existing professional photographers to learn all aspects of newborn posing including safe posing of newborns, relating with clients, session set-up and flow, transitional posing and stylizing.  Work closely with an experienced and internationally acclaimed newborn photographer to breathe new life into your existing business or for the best possible start in a new career.

Small Group Mentoring with an Award-Winning Newborn Photographer

Learn all about photographing newborn babies with studio lighting. Become a more proficient and confident newborn photographer, hone and master safe posing skills of newborn babies, proper lighting techniques, camera settings, custom white balance for best skin tones, camera angles and editing.

Learn how to use studio lighting to capture images that are tack sharp. Control and direct shadows with studio strobes and master amazing macro photography for your clients.

Learn soothing techniques and watch Chandra as she poses baby on the beanbag, props, baby in parent’s hands and parent images.

Bring your camera to class and take images of each set-up and leave with a complete newborn photography portfolio, perfect for launching a new business or refreshing your existing portfolio.

Registration Details

Investment – $950

Registration – A $500 Cdn. retainer is required to hold your spot and is non-refundable. To register for the workshop, please use the PayPal shopping cart below to send your retainer.

Cancellation – Your retainer of $500 Cdn. is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the workshop. Should a cancellation be requested after the remaining balance is paid, the remaining balance will be refunded if you can find someone to fill your spot.

HST – HST is added to all workshop fees.

What You Will Learn

Learn to master newborn photography with studio light.  Students will also learn exposure basics, custom white balance, how to set up for a newborn session, safe posing of newborn babies, soothing techniques, and relating with clients. There will be 2 to 3 newborn models over the course of the day.

What You Need

DSLR – you should be comfortable shooting in manual mode
50 mm lens or 24-70 mm lens
Macro lens is suggested but not required. Chandra does a lot of her work with a 105 mm macro lens

Class Size

Class size will be limited to 2 photographers.

Class Itinerary

9:00 a.m. – Meet and Greet

9:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Newborn posing on beanbag, transitional posing and stylizing. Poses will include baby sleeping on tummy pose, taco pose, arms folded under chin pose, froggy pose and more as time allows.

12:30 p.m. to -1:30 p.m. – Lunch and editing

1:30 p.m. to – 5:00 p.m. – Prop posing, baby in parent’s hands, wrapping and parent images

5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Question and Answer

Ongoing guidance and support provided through a private Facebook group. Only photographers who have attended and paid in full for a workshop/mentoring session (newborn) with Chandra Lee Photography are permitted to be a part of the private Facebook group.
