Please print your newborn images. There is no coming back from a corrupt file.
A few years ago, new desktop Macs stopped putting DVD drives in the computers. You had to purchase an adaptor to be able to run a CD or DVD. Today, new MacBook Pros don’t come with USB ports. You have to purchase an adaptor to be able to use your USB.
Moral of the story is, if you have photos on your USBs or hard drives, please print the images. Pretty soon, you won’t even be able to open up those digital files.
When I was a small child, my mother always printed out our pictures and placed them into albums. Those images are still around today.
My grandmother had pictures from the early 1900s. Those pictures still exist today because they were printed and placed in albums.
You can always scan a print and make more copies from that scanned print. There’s no coming back from a file that has become corrupt, a damaged DVD or a USB that you can’t open. External hard drives fail all of the time.
Printing your newborn images ensures they will still be with you years and decades down the road.
I hope my clients still love the albums they’ve received from me years ago and today.
I’ve gone back and forth over the years between selling only product based packages with digital files and digital file only packages with the option to add on products. The majority of clients always request only digital files. I have to say that over the years, my clients are always most happy spending more on their newborn session and receiving a beautiful keepsake album.
Professional products are available for purchase through the studio. Beautiful hard cover albums, canvas wall portraits, fine art prints and other products. The quality in your newborn images will always be better when you print through your photographer. Professional photographers use professional quality photo labs, colour calibration and ensure their settings within Photoshop match the lab where they are printing.
Here’s a recent newborn session with baby Ryder. I connected with her mom for her maternity session at a local lavender field. She truly is a remarkable woman, beautiful inside and out and baby Ryder and her children are lucky to have her for their mom.
I love the setups we used for Ryder’s newborn pictures. The floral backdrop was so pretty with new floral halos. We used a new owl lovie from Lana and Wren and a beautiful all cream wrapped set-up in a new heart bowl from Do It Herself Photography Props. I have to say that the quality of Christy Park’s props is superior. They are all handmade using quality products. Everything I’ve received from Do It Herself Photography Props has been made with real wood. I also purchased the new farm house metal frame bed recently and it’s extremely sturdy and safe to pose newborns and even older babies with. Love her stuff!
