I hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful long weekend!

Maddy and I went to Nana and Papa’s for the weekend and it was nice to leave the computer, the phone and the e-mails behind for a change.

It’s become apparent that I’m no longer able to keep up with the requests for newborn sessions. I’m a full-time mom, wife, business woman and photographer. I never thought in a million years that things would get this busy this quickly. I want to thank each and every one of you – my friends, family, clients and everyone who’s expressed interest in my photography for helping me get to where I am today. I plan on finding daycare for my daugther so I can open up more weekly newborn sessions but for now August through October are already half booked.

Maddy and I found time to have our own photo session this past weekend. I’m so grateful to have found this time. It may have been just in Nana and Papa’s backyard but to see my little girl’s excitement with picking flowers from the garden and to see her fascination with playing with a blade of grass, I’m so grateful to have these images. Now, that day will always be etched in my mind. I can remember every single detail of her funny grins, her smiles, her enthusiasm, her excitement to discover every little thing about life.

I wanted to let each of you into my heart and share the special time I had with my daughter this past weekend. Photography has taken over my life. It makes me feel utter joy and happiness in capturing special times for families. I believe pictures should tell a story, not just a snapshot in time. I’m by no means a traditional photographer and I will never ask you to sit and say cheese. What I’m all about is capturing real moments in time that will bring you back to a special place in your life. Often little details that may be quickly forgotten but that will never be forgotten when captured on camera.

I gave this post the title “Uh Oh! Someone’s in Nana’s Flower Garden” because uh oh is my little girl’s favorite word these days and although picking the flowers was something Nana wasn’t thrilled about, it made for some priceless images!
